Sunrise PDX and No More Freeways are coming together on August 31st to celebrate NMF’s sixth birthday. It was September 2017 in which we first organized an event on the waterfront and walked to City Council to oppose the Comp Plan Update’s inclusion of the Rose Quarter Freeway Expansion, our very first organized event that led to where we are today.
We’ll be celebrating the news that we’ve successfully put two freeway expansions on indefinite hold, honoring youth-led Youth Vs ODOT protests that garnered national attention and helped kill these projects, and hearing from Representative Khanh Pham and other community leaders who have helped us get to this amazing point.
Also, we’re absolutely going to have some delicious birthday cake.
More information to come, but for the meantime please save the date!
